The purpose of the NPHC shall be to foster cooperative actions of its members in dealing with matters of mutual concern. Thus, NPHC promotes the well-being of its affiliate fraternities and sororities, facilitates the establishment and development of local councils of the NPHC, and provides leadership training for its constituents.
Since its founding on May 10, 1930 at Howard University, the NPHC has been a beacon of unity, purpose, and service—born from a need to foster brotherhood and sisterhood in the face of racial and social injustice. While its roots are in the U.S., the mission has always been global. Since Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. established its first chapter in Liberia in 1948, the NPHC has expanded its impact across the African continent—with a presence in at least 16 countries, including South Africa.
On Saturday, May 10th 2025 via Zoom we honored this legacy and officially chartered our council.
We then hosted a roundtable featuring the Presidents (& designated reps) of NPHC Chapters in West Africa. This powerful conversation was co-moderated by the President and Vice President of the NPHC Council of Presidents 2024/2025.
This is a Lifetime Commitment. This is Global Impact.
We also proudly officially relaunched our D9 West Africa Business Directory — your go-to hub for discovering, connecting with, and supporting businesses owned by members of the Divine Nine across West Africa.
Traveling to Liberia and need a trusted, D9-owned clinic referral? We’ve got you.
Heading to Ghana and want a D9-owned travel agency to curate your itinerary? Consider it done.
This isn’t just a directory — it’s a commitment to cooperative economics, the belief that when we intentionally support one another, we strengthen our communities, circulate wealth within our networks, and create pathways for collective uplift across the diaspora and the continent.
